For over 100 years, Shelta has been an iconic Australian owned and run family company. It’s fair to say that in Australia, “Shelta” and “umbrella” are almost synonymous and from our early years achieved market success and unmatched brand recognition.
Shelta has always been a technical innovator and umbrella fashion leader. We developed the first beach umbrellas in the 1920s, telescopic umbrellas in the fifties, auto open umbrellas in the sixties, auto open/cose in the eighties and a bunch of new mini and micro frames in the nineties. These products have completely changed concepts of what umbrellas are and how they can be used.
Shelta directors David, Julie and Anthony House are continuing our long commitment to stylish, innovative and high quality products, excellent customer service and a real “family business” working environment for staff.
Shelta takes care to select fabrics that not only look good and protect from the rain, but also provide good sun protection. Many umbrellas in this catalogue carry UPF ratings that confirm this high level of protection.
These are verified by the ARL (Australian Radiation Laboratory).
The most common ratings are:
- UPF 25 96% U.V. protection
- UPF 50 98% U.V. protection
- UPF 50+ above 98% U.V. protection
These ratings are shown on a special swing ticket on the umbrella, also in this brochure and in the price list.
Please handle your umbrella with care; do not use excessive force to open or to close.
Do not use in windy or gusty weather. Please consider others when using your umbrella in a crowded space.
Most importantly, always leave your umbrella open to dry; storing an umbrella while damp will cause mould and/or rust.
PLEASE NOTE: See individual product swing tickets for information about abuse, wind damage and normal wear and tear guarantee exclusions. Also product care, cleaning, service and return instructions.
